Oh My....did we really Honky Tonk Last Night?

Starting out a day with a Pedicure really can set the tone for a day full of pleasure! On the walk home we stopped for lunch at Blackstone Brewery on Broadway - had a couple of award winning pints, soup & salad and back to prep for a long night out in Downtown Nashville.

After some internet research and local recommendations we headed out. Next door is the Embassy Suites so we thought it would be easier to score a cab. The cute valet boy from St Louis offered to give us a ride in the Hotel Van - Total Score!! We started with a bite to eat at Jacks' Famous BB-Q where Joel (the guy working the counter) joined us for some colorful local converstation.

Now it was time to roam the strip. We went to Tootsie's first and heard some FANTASTIC local talent (I have a whole new appreciation for country music).

More drinks and music at Roberts Western World (new koozie for my collection), the Stage, the Corner Bar and Layla's. That's where it finally HAPPENED.

As in most of my travels, I always talk about being from NH. We met 2 fun couples and Christian and Mandy were also on a cross country drive as this was their down season (they are bartenders on the Maryland Coast). Christian talked about knowing Manchester a bit - and then Strange Brew came up. His personal friend is my favorite bartender/fireman - Dennis!!! Once again - I validated the NH is the center of the Universe!!

Now after countless beverages we realize its time to make our way back to the Condo. Its Karen's time of night to profess - I'm hungry - lets get something to eat. 3 Pizza Joints closed all around us (its only 2am) - we see the lights on at Taco Bell - woo hoo. We walk up to the door - and its locked - WTF - Only Drive Up is still open till 4am. So we decided to "Pretend" we were in a car. That didnt work well at the order panel becasue we couldnt trigger the speakers. So we asked the car behind us (Yes we were standing in the drive up line) to pull forward. Once we placed our order and got close to the Window - they realized we were CARLESS and told us they couldnt "Sell" us our food with out a Car - what's up with that? What do drunk carless (and responsible) girls do in a situation like this? Well they talk the boys in front of them into paying for our order, we take the goods and walk away!! I think I"m still laughing hysterically!!
